Cat Clothes: The New Kind of Cool

 In Uncategorized

These days, pet fashion (especially cat clothes) is no longer just a trend but a way of life. Not only are humans deserving of the “fashionista” title but adorable pets, like our feline friends, have already invaded and inspired the global fashion industry on a large scale — many thanks to modern technology and social media.

How does fashion love cats? Let us count the ways:

  1. Creative online and local fashion designers for cats
There are several retailers that introduce a creative spin on cat clothes and accessories such as Etsy and local pet shops. Our very own WhiskerBox combines fashion finds offered in these channels as we want it to be everyone’s one-stop shop for “all things kitty”.

  2. Fashion shows for cats becoming a tradition
Ada Nieves luckily got the golden ticket to dress up runway kitties during NYC’s 10th Annual Cat Fashion Show. This year’s style theme served as tribute to actress Marilyn Monroe and other famous icons recognized as Algonquin Hotel’s VIP guests, and ticket sales ($50 for one ticket) were donated to the Mayor’s Alliance for NYC’s Animals. What made the event more exciting was the guests’ dress code: furry cat clothes to look exactly like their pets (cats dressed as humans and vice versa)!

  3. Virtual cat dress-up games, anyone?
You can practice anytime, anywhere to be a better stylist to your cat with virtual dress up games. Internet sensation Grumpy Cat has a web-based dress-up game named after her. Cat lovers who are iPhone users can take advantage of mobile app games to test their cat fashion skills such as Littlest Pet Shop. As for those with Android gadgets, Cat Dress Up is what we’d suggest.
  4. Feline fashion must-haves to keep an eye on
What’s the in thing for kitties? As of August this year, crocheted cat hats are the real deal. More ideas for Fall 2016 cat fashion include cat clothes such as the cat sweater, the hoodie, and a pair of PJs.
